Here are the Silver Squad.
We have been greeted by a variety of Yellow Charmers.
Here were the first Sponge groups to show up.
This fine specimen is saying 'go forth and prosper" and 'hail and farewell'.
I think of these that are everywhere I look as the Pancake People.
We are also overrun by the white on white folks.
More of the same.
Little ones are prospering everywhere, some so little you really have to get down and personal to realize that they are full formed tiny teeny mushrooms.
The Red invasion continues to emerge.
Some mushrooms are truly as pretty as flowers.
The early sponges disappeared and new groups moved into the woods.
This last invasion is just too weird. Check out the true color over at hubby's site.
Fingers? Spaghetti? Displaced coral from an underwater reef?
Everyday we are greeted by rain and new species of Fungus. We love the lush green of the landscapes. After two years of drought we are thrilled with high water in the lakes and streams. This Sunday Stroll stayed close to the ground and in the exotic world of the strange and bizarre.

If you long for gardens and distant vistas take a walk on over to The Quiet Country House and enjoy what they are enjoying.

You really do have a big variety of fungi this year! They are interesting... weird, but interesting! Nice photos... love your names for each variety. :)
It has been so much fun this year to go out the door and explore what new configuration of mushroom has popped up overnight.
I wonder if you have the same varieties of fungi as we do in the UK? Some of them look familiar, but others not!
Do you eat them? Some of ours are very poisonous, but others are good to eat. Though I make ABSOLUTELY SURE I know what they are before I eat anything!!
Hey there Gilly,
Are you saying you actually gather wild mushrooms and eat them? Wow! There is only one wild variety that I would eat and that is the Morel. Other than that I have no knowledge of what is good or bad. I let someone wiser pick the ones I buy at the grocery store. I have no idea of how many fungi there are in the world and if we share them with you. This year I am beginning to think there are endless varieties and maybe they are even creating new ones all the time.
